Two local transit systems to get state and federal funding

Chautauqua County will be getting a share of more than $59 million in state and federal funding for upstate transit services.  Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Thursday that $1.6 million will be going to the county for operating assistance, mobility management services and the purchase of 12 buses.  County Executive Vince Horrigan says he's pleased the county will be receiving the funding for CARTS...

The Seneca Nation of Indians is also receiving $207,000 for operating assistance.  State Senator Cathy Young says she is excited about the announcement.  She says reliable transportation systems are a critical component to improving the quality of life for people in rural communities.
