Area State Senator Cathy Young has introduced legislation that would provide 100% state aid to cover the increase in the county district attorneys' salaries. In a statement, Young says providing the mandate relief for county governments affords them better control of their own finances and helps them pass along that savings to residents and business. Without the legislation, counties will have to absorb a 15% increase, approximately $30,000 without any additional assistance from Albany.
