Homeowner will not face charges in Fredonia shooting incident

Acting Chautauqua County District Attorney Patrick Swanson has announced that no charges will be filed against a homeowner who was involved in a shooting that occurred on Liberty Street in Fredonia on April 23. Swanson says charges are forthcoming against two others involved including the person who was shot. Swanson, who is also a gun owner, says the homeowner did use discretion in utilizing the .45 caliber handgun that police say was legally owned...

Swanson did not identify the homeowner, nor would he identify the other parties involved in the early morning shooting...
Swanson-Other parties face charges
Police officials did reveal the identity of the individual who was shot as James Duman of Dunkirk. He was treated at the Erie County Medical Center and later transferred to the Chautauqua County Jail where police say he was being held for a parole violation.
