A Jamestown woman is facing multiple felony counts related to welfare fraud. Just after 5:00 PM Saturday Chautauqua County Sheriff's Deputies charged 31-year-old Joathylet Ruedas with 5 counts of offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree, welfare fraud in the 4th degree, grand larceny in the 4th degree, and misuse of food stamps. Ruedas received $2,972 dollars in unentitled benefits. She will appear in Jamestown City Court on June 2nd. Any instances of fraud may be reported to the hotline by calling 1-800-288-5365.
