Lake Effect Snow and Wind Chill Warnings Issued

Lake effect snow and dangerously low wind chills are on the way, but most of Chautauqua County is getting a brief respite from a lake effect storm that is now hitting the Buffalo area.  The National Weather Service has the Buffalo area under a Lake Effect Snow warning until 10 pm.  Meteorologist Tony Ansuini of the National Weather Service says Buffalo bound commuters will hit some pretty heavy lake effect snow today.

As of 7:30 am, some of the lake effect snow was falling north of Dunkirk.  The lake effect snow will be moving into Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties later today and it will remain here overnight.  The entire area will feel some bitter cold wind chills starting tomorrow and continue through Sunday morning when a Wind Chill Warning has been issued.
