Two Cherry Creek residents have been taken into custody after allegedly stealing nine checks from a victim and cashing them. According to State Police, 29-year-old Tyler Maynard and 24-year-old Kristen Maynard had taken checks from someone, forged the victim's signature on the checks, and cashed them for $620. Tyler was charged with petit larceny, scheme to defraud and seven counts of possession of a forged instrument. Kristen was charged with petit larceny and two counts of possession of a forged instrument. Both were arraigned in Villenova Town Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail. Tyler is being held in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, while Kristen is being held in lieu of $7,500 cash bail.
