The State Police and local law enforcement agencies will be busy this Super Bowl weekend cracking down on impaired driving. The latest STOP-DWI campaign will run from Saturday until midnight, Monday. Chautauqua County Sheriff Joe Gerace coordinates the program in the county and says the Sheriff's Office will be working with the State Police and a number of local police agencies. He says stats show an increase in the number of impaired drivers.

During the 2015 campaign, State Police say they made 31 impaired driving arrests and issued more than 1,000 tickets. Additionally, county crackdowns resulted in more than 100 DWI and DWAI arrests and five DWAI drug-only arrests.
