Governor Andrew Cuomo today announced nearly $710,000 in state grants to 51 police departments and sheriffs’ offices across the state for the purchase of electronic fingerprinting equipment and some of that money will be going to Chautauqua County. The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office will receive nearly $44,000 for two devices for that agency and one each for the Fredonia, Ellicott, Jamestown and Dunkirk police departments.This new equipment will replace existing devices that either malfunction or are obsolete.
