Dunkirk professional firefighters have been doing it for over 40 years and they need your help in helping raise funds to fight muscular dystrophy. Local 616 held their annual boot drive on Friday. Several members armed with boots...collecting funds from passing motorists with the proceeds going to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Tony Thomas of Local 616 says its a tradition that dates back to the 1960s...and they have raised thousands of dollars.
Thomas-Firefighters have been doing for years
Thomas says firefighters were scheduled to be at the intersection until 5 pm on Friday. They expect to raise anywhere from $4,000 to $6,000.
