A 16-year-old girl from Jamestown girl has died from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash on Fairmount Avenue in Lakewood last night. One other person was transported to WCA Hospital with injuries. Lakewood-Busti Police Chief John Bentley says that Genesis Toledo was a passenger in a compact car that was heading east and made an illegal left turn into the Lakewood Village Center at 270 West Fairmount around 9 pm. Bentley says the car turned in front of a westbound Jeep Sports Utility Vehicle. He says the driver of the car, 17 year-old Jose Rosa Jr. of Jamestown, was hurt, but not seriously in the accident. Police say the driver of the Jeep, Daniel Hulton, Jr., was unable to avoid the crash and the SUV struck the passenger side of the car. Toledo was rushed to WCA Hospital, where she later died. Rosa was also treated at WCA. Hulton and his passenger were released at the scene. Police say charges are pending against Rosa.
