A 51-year-old Buffalo woman has lost her life after drowning in the Lake Erie waters near Wendt Beach in the town of Evans. Town of Evans Police say Mary Creighton was trying to reach her daughter and another young girl who were struggling last night. The 10-year-old girl was able to make her way to shore according to police and police officers were able to bring the 11-year-old to safety. The woman's body was found about an hour later.
