Dunkirk Police are asking for the public's help in locating the driver who led police on a chase through the city and struck a police car in the process. Officers say nobody was injured in the incident, which began at the intersection of 2nd Street and Main Street just after 9:15 PM Friday. The suspect failed to stop for a Dunkirk police vehicle, then led police to a driveway at 613 Leopard Street, where it crashed into a parked and unoccupied vehicle. Police say the driver then fled from the van, but could not be located. Dunkirk Police were assisted at the scene by Fredonia Police, Fredonia University Police, the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office, and State Police.
