Dunkirk City Democrats have issued their endorsements for the fall elections and the current Democratic mayor did not get the backing of the party. Party Chairman Ned Divine announced that the city's current councilman-at-large received the nomination over Mayor AJ Dolce.

In the Common Council contests, the city committee backed Andy Woloszyn for Councilman at Large, Don Williams Jr. for 1st Ward, Marty Bamonto for 2nd Ward and incumbents Andelino Gonzalez and Stacy Szukala in the Third and Fourth Wards.
