Traffic crash in Germany claims Fredonia native's life

A Fredonia native who served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at an air base in Germany, died earlier this week in a traffic accident about 40 kilometers from the base near Daun, Germany.  WDOE News has learned that U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Michael Klose was stationed at Spangdahlem Air Base since December 2011.  A story posted on the air base’s website reports that the 24-year-old was posthumously awarded the rank of staff sergeant on May 24th. Michael was the son of Mark and Karen Klose of Fredonia.  A memorial service honoring Klose was held at the base on Thursday.
