Memorial Day weekend not only marks the unofficial start of the summer driving season -- it also marks the start of boating season. And before you head out on Lake Erie or any other area waterway, it is always important to have the proper safety equipment. And Chautauqua County Sheriff Joe Gerace advises boaters to make sure their equipment is in good working order.  He says make sure your navigation lights are working properly, because depending on the size of the vessel, you need working lights in the front and back of the boat.
