Gas prices in Chautauqua County are now on an upward swing. According to the AAA's Fuel Gauge Report, the price has gone up nearly five cents a gallon this week for regular unleaded fuel. The price is now just over $2.54 a gallon. That's still lower than a year ago when it was about $3.70 a gallon. On the national front, the average price is $2.43 a gallon, up 13 cents from last week. According to AAA, the national average price has now increased for 35 consecutive days, the longest streak of increases since February 2013.
