North County authorities monitoring tainted heroin problem

Dunkirk Police officials are keeping track of developments concerning the spread of tainted heroin in the Jamestown area and the growing heroin problem in general.  Police Chief David Ortolano says the problem of tainted heroin doesn't seem to be showing up in the North County area...at least not at the present time. They continue to stay on top of the situation.

Ortolano-Not aware of any tainted heroin in the Dunkirk area

Ortolano says they stay in regular contact with police authorities in the Jamestown area and continue to work closely with the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force.  He continues to encourage the public contact their office at 366-2266 or the confidential tip line at 363-0313 when they observe narcotics related activity.
