With one of the largest police departments in the nation deciding to move ahead with them...don't be surprised if local departments look to equip their officers with body cameras. Local police officials are already discussing the issue. Dunkirk Police Chief David Ortolano says he has conversed with other police officials about the issue.

Fredonia Police Chief Brad Meyers says he is working on his next budget and he intends to include funding for body cams.
Meyers-Will include funding in budget
Meyers says the final decision will ultimately be up to village trustees. Federal officials are looking at a possible 50-50 split with local departments. The issue seems to be gaining traction with the LAPD's recent decision to equip officers with cameras.
