A vehicle fire on the State Thruway near Exit 56 at Milestrip slowed down traffic for several hours last night. The fire, involving a tractor-trailer, occurred around 6 pm in the eastbound lanes, slowing traffic between Exits 57 and 55. The right lane was closed for about two hours before the charred vehicle could be cleared from the scene.
