A season highlighted by an explosive running game and a stingy defense came to an end for Maple Grove-Chautauqua Lake. On Saturday in Rochester, the Section VI champion Thunderdragons got a dose of their own medicine, losing to Section IV champion Chenango Forks 27-0 in the New York State Class C football semifinals. Running back L.J. Watson led the Blue Devils' attack, running for 137 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the afternoon. Meanwhile, the Blue Devils defense forced four turnovers, including a 78-yard interception return for a touchdown by Dylan Studer in the 4th quarter to seal the win. For the Thunderdragons (11-1), star running back Ryan Miller was held to a season-low 95 yards on 26 carries before leaving the game in the 3rd quarter with an apparent leg injury.
