An official with the Lakeshore Midget Football League -- which includes 11 teams from across Chautauqua County -- was arrested this week for allegedly stealing money from the league. An investigation by the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office revealed that 41-year-old Allen Carlson, Jr. of Dunkirk, who was acting as the league's treasurer, used $4,785.75 of the league's funds from September 8th to October 15th to pay various debts of his. Carlson was arrested Monday on one count of 4th-degree grand larceny and will appear in Chautauqua Town Court in early November. Investigators add that Carlson did pay back the league the full amount he owed on the day of his arrest.
