County Executive Greg Edwards says he feels the Chautauqua County Legislature shirk it's responsibility regarding the County Home during a recent meeting. He says lawmakers didn't include necessary funding for the Dunkirk area facility in the 2012 budget.

Edwards says the legislature put off a decision to have the real estate firm Marcus and Millichap market the home to see what it's worth and whether it could be sold, leased or if a joint ownership would be better. He doesn't buy the argument that the decision should be left to the "new" legislature in January.
