The County Legislature has begun its review of Chautauqua County Executive Vince Horrigan's tentative 2015 budget. The budget plan includes a 9-cent-per thousand full value tax rate increase. Horrigan, who appeared on WDOE's Viewpoint program, believes lawmakers should not eliminate the tax hike.
Horrigan-Legislator should avoid taking more from reserves
On Monday, the Legislature's Health and Human Services Committee heard from department heads of Social Services, Public Health, the Youth Bureau, the Office for the Aging, the Veterans Service Agency and the Office of Probation. Committees will continue to meet throughout the week.
