Talks continue between the county and representatives of the city of Dunkirk and village of Fredonia in working out plans for a regional water project. County Executive Vince Horrigan says he expects the Chautauqua County Water Agency Board to meet in mid October and take action on a measure that would include a suitable rate structure.

Horrigan says if all goes well, he expects the full county legislature to be ready to pass a final resolution before the end of the year. The County Water Agency Board earlier this year approved a plan that would have both Dunkirk and Fredonia provide water for the project.
