Members of a union that represents about 170 workers at Brooks Memorial Hospital has ratified a new contract. The agreement between the hospital and 1199SEIU health care workers was approved by a 4 to 1 ratio. According the Observer, the three-year agreement includes improvements to pension contribution rates, a 1 percent wage increase starting in May of 2015 with maintenance of step progression in 2014 and 2015 and job security language. The 1199SEIU Training and Upgrading Fund continues to be available at no cost to union members under the bargaining agreement.
