A Dunkirk man allegedly found to be driving while drunk in the Town of Hanover has also been charged with kicking a Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputy. Around 8:15 PM Wednesday, officers responded to the area of Alleghany Road and South Shore Drive for a report of a vehicle operating in a reckless manner. Deputies determined that the driver, 34-year-old Paul Tedford of Newell Road, was intoxicated. During the incident, Tedford allegedly became disorderly and kicked a deputy. Tedford will appear in Hanover Town Court on charges of DWI, unlicensed operation, and 2nd-degree harassment.
