Congressional candidate Martha Robertson spoke about the future of Social Security and Medicare when she stopped in Fredonia last Friday...now it's the incumbent's turn. Robertson criticized Republican Tom Reed's voting record on the two federal programs, but during a conference call with area media on Monday Reed told WDOE News he is trying to find ways to keep the programs going for future generations.
Reed-Wants to keep programs going
Reed's campaign also disputes Robertson's claim that the Corning Republican voted to raise the retirement age based on his support for a bipartisan budget proposal in 2012. But, that proposal reportedly had no language about raising the retirement age.
