The selection process of filling a vacancy on the Dunkirk Common Council is a step closer to being completed. The Dunkirk City Democratic Committee last night selected Willie Rosas to fill the Councilman at Large seat. Rosas, a retired State Trooper, has a served on a number of boards and worked for Chautauqua Opportunities Inc. as a juvenile justice coordinator according to Party Chairman Frank Gawronski. He says Rosas one of three candidates considered by the committee and Rosas was chosen on the first vote. It will now be up to the Common Council to decide on the party's recommendation, with action possibly coming at this evening's meeting. Rosas would fill the vacancy created by Stephanie Kiyak who resigned earlier this month.
