A SUNY Fredonia faculty member is receiving some global recognition for his pioneering research in deriving natural gas and oil from Marcellus shale. Dr. Gary Lash, along with Penn State Colleague Dr. Terry Engelder and Texas oilman George Mitchell, were named by Foreign Policy magazine to its "Top 100 Global Thinkers" list for 2011.
