The two-U.S. Senators representing New York have announced that they were able to secure a $2.1 million federal grant for upgrades to the village of Westfield's wastewater treatment facility. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand says the funding will be allocated by the federal Economic Development Agency and will be used for renovations and upgrades to create and retain 146 jobs in county's grape and agri-business industries. Area Congressman Tom Reed praised the grant saying the infrastructure improvements are critical to the public safety and health of the village.
