A three-month long investigation into opiate sales in Dunkirk led to an arrest on Thursday. County sheriff's officers say 24-year-old Nicholas Moore of 10523 Brigham Road in Dunkirk turned himself in to Dunkirk Police on an outstanding warrant charging him with one count each of criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance. Officers say Moore allegedly sold quantities of an opiate-based narcotic to Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force agents within the City of Dunkirk. Moore was arraigned, and then committed to the county jail pending further court action. The arrest was the result of information supplied by members of the community after it was observed that there was traffic consistent with narcotics trafficking in the neighborhood.
