Lakeshore Humane Society - mid-week Open Adoption Hours
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Lakeshore Humane Society holds mid-week Open Adoption Hours each Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm. These weekly Wednesday evening adoption opportunities are in addition to LHS's weekly Saturday Open Adoption Hours from noon to 3 pm. The LHS Adoption Center is located at 431 E. Chestnut Street, Dunkirk. The public is welcome to see the dogs and cats in need of loving homes. (Tours of the facility will not be given during these times.) If unable to come to an adoption event, please leave a message at 716-672-1991 to arrange an appointment to meet the dogs and cats awaiting adoption; press "1" for dogs or "2" for cats. You must be 21 years of age or older to adopt a pet. (Please note that LHS cannot accept credit cards.) While at the LHS Adoption Center, check out the "Cat's Meow" Boutique! Women of Espionage in the Civil War

“Women of Espionage In the Civil War” is part of ex-CIA Agent Michael Ganske's' American Counterintelligence Lecture Series. This presentation will explain the significance of female Spies during the Civil War with a discussion of the dynamics and impact of espionage as practiced in the war. Mr. Ganske will help us understand methodologies and tradecraft utilized such as; The Secret Line, Codes, Flags, Balloons, etc. The case study of Harriett Tubman will be presented. Free program, no registration needed.
