The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office is holding a boaters safety course at the Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club in Dunkirk on May 19th from 8 am - 4 pm.

The course is free for ages 10 - 17. 18 and older will have to pay a $10 fee to receive their certification card.

This course is required for anyone born after May 1996 to operate any vessel in NYS anyone born prior to May 1996 is exempt from this requirement unless they plan to operate a personal watercraft.

Students are to bring a bagged lunch
