Captured Live in High Definition at Italy’s Pompeii Amphitheatre … A one-night-only theatrical screening of the former Pink Floyd guitarist’s new concert film, Live at Pompeii. The film documents the guitarist's pair of July 2016 concerts at the Pompeii Amphitheatre in the ancient Roman city, where Pink Floyd played 45 years prior for their own Live at Pompeii film. These concerts were the first-ever rock performances staged at the ancient amphitheater, which was built in 90 B.C. and entombed in ash by the eruption of Vesuvius in A.D. 79. This makes Gilmour the only performer to play to audiences in the arena for almost 2,000 years – since the time of the gladiators.
