Fine Forgiveness Program to be Held at Anderson-Lee Library iCal

Saturday, July 1 2017 1:00 AM - 1:00 AM

As part of the summer reading theme, “Build a Better World”, Anderson-Lee Library in Silver Creek will offer fine forgiveness for patrons who bring in donations of non-perishable food and/or health and beauty supplies.  All items collected will be donated to the Silver Creek Food Pantry.

From July 1-15, stop by the library to have your fines and charges forgiven according to these guidelines:

  • Bring in any overdue Anderson-Lee Library material from July 1-15, along with your donation of non-perishable food/health and beauty items for the Silver Creek Food Pantry and all fines will be cleared.
  • If patrons have Anderson-Lee Library materials that are lost, those patrons may bring in a donation of non-perishable food/health and beauty items for the Silver Creek Food Pantry in lieu of paying for those lost items.
  • If a patron does not currently have any items checked out or overdue, but has accrued fines from Anderson-Lee Library that remain on their record, these patrons may bring in a donation of non-perishable food/health and beauty items for the Silver Creek Food Pantry in lieu of paying those fines.

Please keep the following in mind:  Only Anderson-Lee Library materials are eligible for fine forgiveness.  Patrons must visit the Anderson-Lee Library from July 1-15 and speak to staff at the circulation desk in order to receive the benefit of fine forgiveness.  Fines may not be forgiven over the phone, through the mail, email, Facebook or the after-hours book drop.

While all donations of non-perishable, non-expired food items are welcome, the pantry does see a great need for the following items:  canned tuna, mayo, pancake mix, baking mixes, canned soup, peanut butter, jelly, kid snack items, and cereal.  There is also a need for the following health and beauty items: toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, and toilet paper.

Although the fine forgiveness portion of this program will run July 1-15, the Anderson-Lee Library will have the collection box out for the entire month, so anyone who wants to help “Build a Better World” and help their neighbor is welcome to participate.

For further information or questions about what you owe, call the library at 716-934-3468 or stop in at 43 Main Street in Silver Creek.  The staff of Anderson-Lee Library look forward to helping “Build a Better World” with you!
