Tuesday, May 2 2017 7:00 PM - 8:30 AM
The Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy invites the public to join us for “The Good, the Bad & the Ugly: Algae Growth in Chautauqua Lake” on Tuesday, May 2nd from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Bemus Point. Dr. Courtney Wigdahl-Perry, Assistant Biology Professor at SUNY Fredonia, and Jennifer Phillips-Russo, Adjunct Environmental Science Professor at SUNY Fredonia, will discuss recent research on which nutrients fuel algal blooms in Chautauqua Lake and will also present data collected by Wigdahl's scientific monitoring buoy in the Lake. This presentation is part of CWC’s Healthy Landscapes for Healthy Waters program which aims to educate people on the relationship between land use and water quality. The presentation is open to the public free of charge. Pre-registration is appreciated but not required.
