Birdsong Walk iCal

Wednesday, May 10 2017 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM
Beginning at 8:30 a.m., in an informal, half-hour workshop, Terry Mosher will teach you to identify about 15 birds by song. Then you’ll walk two or three trails in the lovely College Lodge woods, listening for the songs you just learned, as well as others. There will be a friendly identification competition and a prize.

The event is planned to conclude at 10:30 a.m. In the event of rain, it will be rescheduled for Friday, May 12.

Now a professor emeritus, Mosher taught Environmental Literature and other English courses for 36 years at SUNY Fredonia. Now retired, the longtime birder and amateur naturalist is past president of the Lake Erie Bird Club and active in the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy and other organizations dedicated to the study and conservation of nature.

Participants are reminded to dress for the weather, with footwear that will keep you dry on damp or wet trails. If you can, bring a pair of binoculars.

Enrollment is limited. The fee is $16 per person, $12 for Nature Center members. Paid reservations are required by noon on Monday, May 8, 2017: Call (716) 569-2345 during business hours or click through Plan Your Visit/Attend a Program at auduboncnc.org.
